After a full day on the trails — whether on an enduro bike, a mountain bike, or on foot — there's nothing quite like sitting down to a traditional Albanian mountain meal. The cuisine of the Sharr region is hearty, flavorful, and deeply connected to the land.
The Star: Lamb on the Spit
The centerpiece of any celebration in these mountains is the whole lamb roast. Slowly turned over wood fire for hours, basted with herbs and butter, the meat falls off the bone with a smoky tenderness that's impossible to replicate in a restaurant kitchen. We can arrange a traditional lamb roast for groups — it's an experience, not just a meal.
Mountain Cheese & Fresh Bread
Local shepherds produce extraordinary white cheese from sheep and goat milk. Paired with warm, freshly-baked bread and mountain honey, it's the perfect trail snack or breakfast. The taste is unlike anything you'll find in a supermarket.
Flija: Layers of Tradition
This traditional layered pastry is baked under a metal dome called a saç, with each layer brushed with cream before the next is added. The result is a crispy, creamy, utterly addictive dish that's been made in these mountains for centuries.
Raki & Turkish Coffee
Every meal begins or ends (or both) with strong Turkish coffee and homemade raki — a grape brandy that warms you from the inside out. It's not just a drink; it's a social ritual. Refusing a glass would be almost impolite.
"I came for the enduro trails but I'm coming back for the food. The lamb roast alone is worth the flight." — Philippe, France
All our packages include three meals per day featuring authentic local cuisine. Vegetarian options are available, and we can accommodate dietary requirements with advance notice.
